Actually I think I paid $209 for mine but I just got them from Newegg. Pretty sure it was in one of their daily emails a couple weeks ago. I've seen them for $199 in sales flyers from Best Buy so it's at least possible to get them that cheap.

That's the same drive. I have no idea how fast it spins since it's not relevant to my needs, but ddrueding has one he might be able to check.

Assuming the customer won't spend the night doing camping in that field, when he'll be back, can you ask him what's the rotational speed of the platters?

Not only would he not know, but I didn't install any software on the machine that would tell him. And he's too far away to make a visit for this.
