Sampo LCD Monitors

Does anyone have any experience with Sampo LCD monitors, specifically the LME-17S1? It's a 17.4" model with built-in TV tuner and 1280x1024 resolution. My Dad wants to get an LCD monitor, and this one is currently US$600 at Costco. The specs seem pretty good for the price, but I don't know about the quality.

Well, five or six years ago, Sampo were a no-name try hard with questionable quality. This, of course, tells us nothing - that's a long time in this industry. Today, who knows? There is supposed to be a big LCD shake-out going on, with prices dropping hard, so it could be a good one. On the other hand, you may well find that you can buy a known, familiar brand for the same or an even lower price before too long. Are you feeling lucky?

PS: What warranty do they offer? Read the fine print!
