Uses the same 256 bit bandwidth for the GDDR5 as the 5850, however it looks a little crippled compared to the latter. No need to worry if you are in the GPU market, I would say a pair of 5770s or a 5850 would be a much better deal.

It's strange that for a middle card, that the max wattage is almost 25W more than the high end card.

Yes, potentially more leakage in that particular derivative of the Cypress core, plus it's running at a 75MHz higher clock speed.

It's purely a plug to fill a gap in pricing between a 5770 and a 5850. However it seems to only do about 5-10% better than a 5770 for a significant increase in power consumption, noise, and pricing.

Just all the better to snuff out nvidia this gen.
