question Partitionning a 7.2 To raid 6 array

Hello,

I am actually having difficulties with formatting a 7.2 To raid 6 array created by my 3805 with 6 Seagate drives.

I have launched Parted Magic 9.5 using theirl ive cd.

No way to create 2 3.6 To partitions so I tried to make 4 smaller Partitions.

I could easily create 2 ext4 formatted primary 1.75 To partitions.

I can't do anything with the unalocated 3.6 To. Neither primary neither extended !!

I think I first created a empty partition table before creationg these ext4 primary drives.

What am I doing wrong and how should you use these 7.2 To array ?

Conventional MBR based partitions are limited to 2TB, so in order to utilise all the array you'll need to use GPT partitioning.

Since you're using Linux, the builtin partitioning/formatting tools handle this natively as long as you have "EFI GUID Partition support" enabled in the kernel.

To go larger than 2TB, you need to make sure the partition table is GPT and not MBR.
