Well, we have a new way to enjoy our area. We have a very large pond, that at anytime has between 30 and 150 canadian wild geese, about 10 white geese, and about 5 'mother goose',
geese with white under parts, and grey shades on top.
Also about 200 mallards.
We go through about 8 loaves of bread each time we go down to the pond. They know us well enough to eat out of our hands. Mainly the white and mother geese, but a few mallards, a number of canadian geese as well.
The real show is watching the mallards and the canadian geese land. As they come in they hydroplane on their up angled feet, coming at us, and it's quite a show.
It's surpassed by at dusk, watching the flights of canadian geese come in, numbering between 30 and about 90 on the biggest landings, and come hydroplanning at us, eager to have some bread before sleep. Great formations, and they all land in formation, at the same time.
simply AMAZING...
