For years now I've been using and recommending the excellent Fastcopy. Version 2.11 has been current forever. No other utility I have met offers its combination of speed, simplicity, and flexibility. Use it for data transfers, as a synch tool, for making backups, even for quickly deleting large folders that Windows takes forever with. And it is free.
After a very long run, 2.11 has now been replaced by Fastcopy 3.0. Fastcopy lovers need not worry, it retains all the features of the older version, just refines them and adds a few nice new things. Highly recommended.
