question Need help conderning HP MSA 2000

got delivery of HP MSA 2000. I got all I need but addional I got a case or aperture or something. Can anybody tell me what this is? Photos attached (please ignore the devil duck)

It looks like a monitor shelf to me. Are those mounting holes I see? How wide is it? What does the other end look like?
