Half-Life 2 Source Code Leaked

As seen on Slashdot, the source code for Half-Life 2 has been leaked. This is bad news, and I'm not sure how it'll affect the release of the game, or if it'll make cheating more prevalent. Here is Gabe Newell's statement on the leak.

That's disturbing news to say the least. Cheating was always a big problem with counter-strike...last thing we need is for people to make it easier in half life 2 net play. Thanks for the news SteveC, good info.

i wonder if valve could realease faked source code in an attempt to confuse people looking to hack halflife2....

From what was mentioned in that article it seems like this was a very good hacker who broke into valve and stole the code. I wonder what his/her motivations were.
