I have a problem whereby when someone fills in a formmail form with Japanese characters, when the email is received it's just gibberish.

Is there a setting that allows the Japanese character set to come thru unmolested?

TIA, Pradeep.

Wouldn't that depend on the character encoding used by your browser and whether or not you had the relevant fonts and/or input locales set up in your OS?

I mean, a text box is a text box, and all you can do is type in it. What you see is going to depend on the other stuff.

I know not of this formmail.
But an html form with a textarea or textbox has an enctype and accept-charset attribute. Now the browser may be submitting this information correctly but whatever is processing it pukes on unicode characters or something. Or the browser isn't submitting it correctly. Or it needs one of those attributes set to submit it correctly.
