LFE's are some of the most exciting parts of a movie. Is this a home-built sub setup? Did you do a writeup on the project or am I thinking of someone else?
Yes, it's home built. I have a writeup on it somewhere over at AVSforum.

It sounds quite good if I say so myself. Better than all my previous subwoofer solutions that I've tried.

I finally got around to watching Ant-Man tonight for the first time. I watched it in 3D from Blu-ray. It was quite enjoyable and I thought it was pretty good.

And last night I watched Dr. Strange for the first time. Also in 3D from Blu-ray. I enjoyed it, but it feel a bit like a 2 hour introduction to magic in the MCU and not so much a standalone movie.

I believe it is given the other X-Men characters used in the movie.
I haven't seen it yet, but heard the same thing. I have the Blu-ray, but haven't watched it.

I watched X-Men:Apocalypse last night for the first time (in 3D from Blu-ray). I thought it was kind of meh... I mean it was okay, but I wasn't sucked into the plot. I didn't really have much attachment to the characters. Probably because we already know the main characters were all going to survive. I'm also unclear to me how it's supposed to fit with the other X-Men movies.

I had the same feeling about Apocalypse. That was the kind of movie I watch while running on my treadmill. Entertaining enough to distract me from the pains of running but not good enough to warrant my full attention.

Have you seen Logan yet? I'm curious what your thoughts are on that movie given the rest of the X-Men universe. I have a few gripes with it but I thought it was decent.

No, I haven't. I've been meaning to watch it, but I was holding off until I watched X-Men: Apocalypse because of the order they were released in and thought it might have been like watching movies in the other MCU universe out of order when they build off one another. However, after watching X-Men: Apocalypse it seems like it likely doesn't matter.

That said, I'm going to try to watch it this week.

I watched it tonight. It was dark and rather depressing. It certainly wasn't a typical uplifting feel good X-Men movie. It had the vibe of a bad episode of The Walking Dead where they're lamely killing main characters off for the sake of reminding the audience that no one is safe. (FWIW, I stopped watching TWD and FTWD a while back when I finally realized the showrunners and writers were unimaginative idiots who treat the viewers with contempt like they'll watch anything.)

All that said, Logan was reasonably well done as a movie. The scene at the hotel/casino where Charles was having an episode was quite the aural assault.

Personally loved the Godfather series, followed by Raiders of the Lost Ark. Old classics never die - well that's a lie, they've died with our generation. Most under the age of 25 would have never seen these movies before and never would because they're too 'old'

Back when I was in film school the Godfather films (original and part 2) were too new to be considered classics. Today they are considered as some of the best ever.

Let's see, The Godfather was 1972, The Godfather Part II was 1974.

Based on the too new comment, would indicate less than 10 years since they came out, so in film school approx 1978-83... That's 35-40 yrs ago.

Based on typical tertiary study ages (17 - 21), would indicate that you are between 52 and 58 yrs of age...

And based on your posting history, that would be a decent estimate...

Some detective-like skills you have there, but then again, some have stated that a movie needs to be at least 25 years old to be considered a classic though.

"Films have to be at least 25 years old to qualify for the National Film Registry; acts don't become eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame until 25 years after the release of their first record."

Movies this summer are really a bunch of tired reruns. Why is every movie part 2 or 3 or a copy of something else? :(

Although not quite a summer release, I really enjoyed The Quiet Place (April 2018). Otherwise I agree that the industry is just about revenue via repeats and limited ideas.
