Mozart - Symphony No. 41 "Jupiter" Not only is this music great just for listening, but the most entertaining book I've read was while listening to this symphony (the book was Agatha Christie's - Clocks).

    Sold on Dual CPUs?

The Tyan S2460 that I had has AGP and EIDE drivers which helped out a lot in regards to the systems stability. Also, Tyan lists their System Monitor as a driver download.

    Sold on Dual CPUs?

Interesting observations and experiences from everyone. My dual processing days started with a dual Celeron system created as a small office server for a customer. After that, I spent a great deal of money, and built myself a dual PIII 667EB Slot-1 system. I’ve also put together a dual PIII...

SB Live! locking up my system.

Your knowledge servers you well Time. I think it was amdmb.com that showed the DRV-5 coming out ahead of all other KT333 solutions with their assault of benchmarks.

SB Live! locking up my system.

Bartender! I only have SL-75DRV-4 boards, no SL-75DRV-5 boards. Unless, of course, Tim would like a VIA 266a based board instead. I should stock up on some SL-75DRV-5 boards, they are just so expensive.

Platform, the information you provide regarding Serial ATA is quite refreshing. The information that I presented is not without accuracy, however. It appears that this new technology is evolving with great competition between manufacturers. The outcome should be interesting as the T13...

    AUS: Athlon XP 1600+ $140

I think Tannin just handed the package over to Tea. With her steel-like nails and superhuman strength, that package was probably opened in a matter of seconds. Reminds me of the movie Any Which Way But Loose.

    Re-learning web stuff

Merc, Maybe this would help: http://www.willcam.com/cmat/html/crossref.html ...it is an online reference guide for HTML tags with some additional reference links on it. You can probably find some good sites if you do a search on google.

    Re-learning web stuff

One easy way to refresh your memory on HTML is to copy code from other sites (like Redhill and HLM Company), alter the code and see what changes.

    Re-learning web stuff

At one time I used Visual InterDev from Microsoft - I was quite comfortable with the layout. However, as I moved into different extensions, such as .php, InterDev failed to understand the code (it would no longer color-code the code :) ) Tannin mentioned EditPlus, and I've enjoyed using that...

    Beyond the 4 ide channels......

When Serial ATA is released, the drive and Host will both use Parallel ATA internally. The Parallel ATA data will be converted through a conversion chip and sent in packet form across the serial cable. This will then need to be converted back to Parallel ATA. Additionally, the drives will...

I second Coug's suggestion. I would not wait for SATA, as their release will not be very soon, and upon their release, there will be no performance benefit.

    New sig for The Giver

I remember that post quite well Tannin. However, the conversation seems to imply that you would assign a signature to him - somewhat singular in nature, perhaps only one time. Nevertheless, I would look forward to a new, profound signature for The Giver.

If I translated that right i - good one! Let's see how many people will throw him one.

    New sig for The Giver

I would find it a bit blasphemous for the Giver to wear such a respectable signature. You could put: Aus einem verzagten Arsch kam noch nie ein fröhlicher Furz! …or Jeder sieht, wenn ich besoffen bin aber niemand merkt, wenn ich Durst habe.

    New sig for The Giver

I think we should come up with a few, perhaps in different languages. That way, people will ask him what they mean, he won't know, and become bothered by it. Coug could come up with one in French, the Bartender perhaps one in German, and the aussies here could surely come up with something...

It's nice that Tannin and Kristi pay the bills for you. My electricity bill came and I was 12% higher in usuage because of this folding business. That may not sound like much, but it took me into a more expensive usuage bracket. So my bill was 32% higher in price.

    D-Link DI-804 DHCP Problem

Is your router set to dynamically send out IP addresses after 192.168.1.2? Your first available DHCP provided address is 192.168.1.3. My Netopia router requires that I enter the first dynamic address so that I can use some addresses statically.
