    Front page info XP3000+

If anyone is interested in the setup that AMD used to test the XP 3000+, here is some information: they used an Asus A7N8X, Bios Rev 1001.D and disabled APIC in the BIOS. They also used the ATI Radeon 9700 with 128MB onboard DDR RAM, plus they used Video Driver 6.13.10.6218.12.09.2002. There...

    news forum section?

So as Herr Gary points out, we would have three Community Forums (the third being the News section) and then the three Off Topic Forums that we have now. That makes sense as everything used and visited most often would be in one central location. Where or how would we setup a link for...

Thanks for the link to Liam's article CityK, it was informative reading. I wish more people would make the evaluation and see that purchasing an AMD XP system at the moment is a great deal - the best ROI business decision in my opinion. The only caveat to this would be very graphic intensive...

Would it make any sense to integrate a special section on our frontpage that only displayed official release announcements? Or should we not get too involved with current events and leave those type of things up to the big boys like the INQ and Xbit?

Mercutio, if I could sell at NewEgg's prices, I'd be impressed. I can beat mWave by a small margin on some things (usually when outfitting a whole system). But NewEgg, they're tough to beat. Of course, if I sold hundreds of every item I stock each day, it would be easy! :D

Ghost or image a copy of another drive in a special HDD copying system (which has more memory). Then put the drive into the system Dell machine. XP will run with such little memory, but it won't install on that type of system. I've done this with other versions of Windows.

    Thermaltake Volcano9

Beautiful job on the heatsink V8agent. The fan is presently spinning at 2,992-rpm (manually set) and keeps the CPU at 59-degrees Celsius under full load with a case temperature of 36-degrees Celsius and an ambient room temperature of 24-degrees Celsius.

    Thermaltake Volcano9

Update on these Thermaltake contraptions I bought. I disconnected the automatic sensing, connected the rheostat and adjusted the fan speed accordingly. With this type of control over the fan combined with the decent heatsink, they should work fine.
