Indeed, that is my reason for sticking with Windows. My customers are very familiar with the OS, and all of their software is Windows compatible. Most of the software does not come in a Linux version, and so they would have to learn a whole new application. You say run an emulation for...

    So when?

When do we get SATA optical devices? Including SATA hard drives is nice, but if you still have to mess around with PATA CD and DVD drives, what's the point? Plus, as a remark from Tannin's thread about Windows requiring drivers to be loaded from floppies during installation, when will Windows...

Speaking of light, today is the December Solstice. Tannin should be happy, all remnants of Winter should be far behind for the next several months. Plus, the need for extra shop lighting at the Redhill outlet is moot, the sun will stay around longer, shining its brilliant rays into the late...

Good analysis LiamC. For the end user, the Gigabyte GA-K8VT800M would be nice. Small form factor, quiet, and nice when combined with the an Athlon 64 3000+. The full size brother, GA-K8VT800, is nice too.

Splash: What are you using for new systems at work?

Boy, putting together a dual Opteron 240 system with the S2885 board and a couple gigs of Reg./ECC PC2700 memory really gets expensive. Add a really good power supply and nice case, and you easily hit $2,500.00.

Shock! Horror! What makes the news?

True, some people may not have an interest in someone else getting married. Although newsworthy events do not need to necessarily shock, surprise, or horrify anyone, they can be pleasant and delightful too. Which is what I thought of when looking through the poll.

    Sony Support at its finest
