    SATA II problem

FWIW, I've had problems with the 1TB Hitachi drive not working in an SATA I external enclosure, whereas Samsung and WD 1TB drives worked properly. Unfortunately the Hitachi drives have no jumper. I don't know what to tell you, other than try another brand HD or use a PCI controller of some sort.

    Knives

There is frequent CC fraud and stores may not ship to a hotel since the CC holder is not registered at that address. Of course it depends on the type of item. I'm not an expert at knives, whether used for killing or for carving turkeys. It is not too difficult to have a $120 sweater shipped to...

Sick and tired of ORD, flying, snowed in, cancellations, and now just the cold. Going LAX to ORD and STL one's head will ache, perhaps caused by thermal expansion of the skull bones in a short time. ;) Will this winter ever end?

I've seen many types of squirrels around the world and yes some are quite dark. In some locations colors vary widely even in the same species. At the south rim there are a lot of chipmunks as well as squirrels. Unfortunately tourists tend to feed them.

I no longer have any fast lenses for digital. Maybe I should just rent a 5D+35/1.4 for a few days. A fast 35 was a lens used frequently in the 70s and 80s. These are times when I miss the high end compact 135 rangefinders; they have not been equalled in the digital era. Nobody you would know.

That sensor uses a typical process size, similar to that of the sensor in the Canon rebel XTi and 40D. Unfortunately the Sony sensor has only 12-bit A/D conversion. Perhaps that is because it is rather noisy, but who knows. It would be nice to see a 14-bit version of the sensor in the...

I would not buy a used camera body, but it is relatively easy to test a lens. I purchased a fair amount of used lenses for 6x7 because the price differential from new was quite high at the time. The only 35mm lenses I purchased used were a 35/1.4 Ai (>15 years ago in person), and a 300/4 L...
