In the close view of the NN5 it looks like the generic plate is not attached with a clamp, much less an A-S clamp. Rather, it looks like the plate is screwed on. Perhaps a proper clamp could be installed, but probably not directly to the screw from the positioning knob. Even if it could be...

That never worked for my systems for some reason. It is annoying because the video reverts when resuming from standby.

    Preseving laptop battery

I have a similar problem, but the notebook is almost 4 years old. Soon we will get new ones with Vista and Office 2007. I'd so much prefer a desktop, but all dept. managers must have notebooks.

I use D50 lighting for viewing prints, and a 5000K monitor works best for my eyes. However, some other people prefer 5500K with my setup.

I have no way to directly compare that to anything, but Adobe should get its act togther on multi-threading.

That is not econonomically feasible in my workroom. I think it was meant to be a bedroom. The two accessible receptacles on adjacent walls are sharing a circuit. For example, fluorescent lights briefly flicker a bit when a high load is applied.

Moving water and clouds are not good for pans. :( 10-20% overlap is probably not enough to maintain even IQ across a pan. (It may be OK with an FX lens on a DX sensor.) I usually overlap 50% and more in some cases. Stopping the lens down to optimum apertures usually reduces light falloff to...

Yes, sometimes several times and nothing happens. I hope that issue is moot with the new host.

Yes, but I must the last person not to have a player BD yet. Of course I have no HD TV sets so it would be pointless to collect BDs that cannot be watched.

You may need to overlap more, ideally 50% on most lenses matched to the format. It is assumed that mid-small apertures are used. How much do you usually overlap?

SSDs - State of the Product?

Typical files are in the 24-50 MP range with 5-6 image layers (16-bit mode). Save times can be much longer than desirable. :( During much of the process, the CPU is at 25% (one core maxed out). RAM and HD are not the limiting factors then. Larger files are progressively more difficult to work...

I can use even the 90 TSE handheld. It is not that difficult to use fairly quickly when preset in advance. TSE lenses are much easier to use with digital bodies than they were with film. I find that the 24 is more useful for shifting since the DOF is less frequently a problem. Any of these...

I have been using a Q9650 @4.05 for a while now, and wonder if the i7 is better in PS for the slow, single-threaded operations such as saving large files. Everything else is fast enough or not significantly CPU limited.
