    The Toyota you Don't Know...

    That article is 10 months old. I would bet that the UAW will never successfully union a Japanese transplant factory. The Japanese aren't stupid.

    The Toyota you Don't Know...

    How about mandatory unpaid overtime for the engineers? How about the games GM played so that there is no automotive profit (so they didn't have to pay any profit sharing to the salary employees) even when the company was wildly profitable? How about taking away benefits from the salaried...

    Maybe we should start talking about how GM treats their salaried non-union employees then. I would bet Toyota treats their employees far better.

    Intel ICH8/9/10R, and RAID 1+0

    I'm pretty sure it's not a software solution. My PC with a ICH9R behaves just like my hardware 3ware card. It can rebuild in windows. It shows up to utilities as a single drive (like Acronis).

    You should vote republican...

    I can't argue politics with someone who is delusional. So, Obama, despite having no military service and thinking the joint chiefs of staff have command responsibility, is just as qualified to be commander in chief as the guy who served in the military? John Kerry served in Vietnam, and he was...

    AVG8 = Crap!!!

    It has forced my PC to reboot after every single update (daily), and one of them required 4 reboots in the row to get it to stop asking me to reboot. A Google search showed other people are having the same issues.

    AVG8 = Crap!!!

    I don't know how else to say it. AVG is a complete and utter pile of crap. I just uninstalled it from this computer and will be uninstalling it from any other computer of mine that it's on later today. The program forces you to restart after every update and is just a big fat performance hog...

    It's not just IrfanView. It's pretty much every app. The problem is PS shows me something that basically no other program will. So, even if it's right (which I don't think it is). So, ultimately I can't see what I will actually get until I save it in PS and open it in another application.

    I'm not sure that's what's happening. It seems like Photoshop thinks the ICM profile assigned to the monitor is not a sRGB correction but instead tries to compensate for it being a different color space.
  36. S

    dSLR thread

    I can also get them to match by changing the RGB Working Space in Photoshop to the one created with the Pantone Eye One and telling PS not to manage the color in the files when I open them. This solution though creates a big problem though if you open anything in PS that's not a sRGB file.
  37. S

    dSLR thread

    What you say works in theory except that sRGB is the default color space for Windows and all applications that don't support other color spaces. The real important issue here is why don't my colors match? This is the same sRGB file loading in PS and in IrfanView. The best I can tell PS changes the colors it is displaying perhaps due to a monitor calibration file, or perhaps bypassing a monitor calibration file? Anyone seen this or...
