Ok, I double checked with my buddy, and he confirmed that with 2 SLI capable cards (even if they're not in SLI and the connector is not on them) that only 3 monitors in the video properties, not 4. This was a few years ago with 68xx and 76xx generation cards, so newer cards, and newer drivers...

I'm not 100% sure about that. My buddy told me something about only one display working on the 2nd card leaving you with only 3 displays, not four.

I can only do that on the UPS that feeds the main server, which will only improve my logging of power disturbances. :crap:

The UPS data is from my APC Smart-UPS 700 XL connected to my main server. It does self checks at some interval (not sure what it is). The backup server is plugged into a "dumb" APC BackUPS Pro 1100. My understanding is that it does not do any sort of regular self test.

I double checked the BIOS today and all that stuff is turned off. It's set to stay off after a power failure. All the other power on options are disabled.

I made no claims to the quality of the hardware, just the throughput. On a related rant, I would have a 2nd PT Server card, but the ebay seller shipped me a PT Desktop card after having a listing for a PT Server card. So, I tested it above, but I want to see what PT Server to PT server...

For some reason I wasted most of my day running iperf tests on all my Gigabit cards and every possibly combination of them. I ran three 30 second tests in each direction for the following TCP window sizes; 4k, 8k, 16k, 32k, 64k, & 128k. One NiC (in the chart title) was in my Windows XP x64...

I think you want 64bit LBA. I'm not sure. I had no such options on my Perc 6/i.

There are lots of other IOmeter patterns better for showing database performance. This is intended to be an ATTO clone showing 100% Sequential reads and writes at different block sizes. It's similar to CrystalMark Disk also, but much more comprehensive.

What's the CPU usage? If it's high it could be in PIO mode, not DMA mode.

I don't think your setup will work. What is the gateway for each network? I think your remote site will have to get internet access back through the primary site.

2 days!?!?!? :eek: I did a full foreground initialization my 8 x 1.5TB RAID-6 array in just over 5 hours. It started 17:54:43 and finished at 23:01:50 on the same day. That's 5 hours, 7 minutes, and 7 seconds.

I don't think the RAID level matters. It has to write (and read?) all sectors of all the discs. That takes the same amount of time regardless of the RAID level.

No, I didn't do that. That would be an interesting test, though I probably won't do it. Just file storage nothing special or needing the speed.
