But who knows? Next week there may be a spyware on iPhone or whatever. If I ever get a smarting phone I will not use it for anything personal. I think it does not hurt to place opaque tape over the camera too.

Shaving solutions, or, what do Gilette and all those companies do with all their $?

Less is fine, but something about none is just not quite right. Be glad you were not in Europe in the 1980s. Many of the Italian and German women did not shave anything. No money to Gillette and Schick whatsoever. :)

Heh, in the 70s I had big hair and beard/moustache too. :rr: Women were pretty hairy then down south, too - not much waxing. :(

Congratulations to WD for finding a whole new way to make hard drives wrong

Oh yeah, the consumer is completely screwed from birth to death, and worse very year. I'm trying to select a cheap cremation/funeral deal, so they don't try to screw my ancestors. The problem is they can bankrupt first and you get screwed alive.

Congratulations to WD for finding a whole new way to make hard drives wrong

Well, one can buy a drive and enclosure if one is willing to spend more and live with the bulk. I like the smaller size/lower weight of the integrated external drives. They also usually have better shock absorption than the enclosures purchased separately. Aren't the Seagate externals the same?

Congratulations to WD for finding a whole new way to make hard drives wrong

The portabale USB-powered drives are not designed to be user serviceable, so the fact that the drives cannot be reused is an inconvenience you must accept. In the days of the 320-640GB drives I pulled quite a number of them from WD Passports, Toshiba Canvios, etc. for use as internal drives. I...

Congratulations to WD for finding a whole new way to make hard drives wrong

It has been that way for over a year, since around the time that micro USB replaced mini USB in WD Passports. IIRC I mentioned it in a thread some time ago. In fact it is surprising that did not occur long ago as the price of a single board must be less than adding the separate bridge board...

Wow, you obviously don't want to understand what a tax is. The deposit on beverage containers is there to encourage reuse/recycling and reduce improper disposal as trash.

    LED flashlights

I'd really like the looks of that TK35 although it is rather bulky. In early 2012 I should be staying where they have fences, but maybe in the next year I'll be out in the temp camp if they have the other group. Of course by then the lights may be brighter yet.

    LED flashlights

I prefer the single 18650-based flashlights in the pocketable type. The 2xAA lights type are heavier, longer, and have less capacity. I have been using Zebras for the convertible headband/headlight style. They are small and light, but not the most rugged. Mostly I use them on a middle setting...

All of the tests indicate the f/2.8 IS II lens is better than the f/2.8 IS (not that the latter is a bad lens), so I won't be testing them for comparison. Actually I will be comparing the f/2.8 IS II to the f/4 IS. With a 1.4x III TC the f/2.8 IS II should be better than the f/4 IS.

View NX2 is multi-threaded. I converted 111 random D7000 (16MP) NEF files to 8-bit TIFs over ~4 minutes. The CPU goes up to 100% part of the time and averages maybe 70%. That's roughly the same as other converters such as DPP, being limited by the reads (2.23GB) and writes (5.01GB).
