So you watch dicumentaries all day?

    Vanished thread

Hey, you are doing great. One thread deleted in ten years compared to SR deleting their whole database in the MBF.

    Best CPU Benchmarks?

I've lived in CA most of my life, and it is not a west coast thing. It is a Santilli thing. ;)

problem Seagate GoFlex 4TB USB 3.0

Do you really think most people know that?

Well, it will be about a month. But regarding that other thing, no thanks. It would probably kill me in far less than four hours.

SSDs - State of the Product?

Until then I'll live with the two Cherrydales and the Inferno. RAID 0 is not doing much according to the stopwatch.

I haven't seen that one in about 18-19 Years. At the time it was released I was stationed overseas and saw it on the cable after I was rotated back to the states. I vaguely remember some latexed character with odd gonads, but did nor associate it with that film. I guess it made more of an...

    Best CPU Benchmarks?

Not likely. It is more a polite way of stating that the person has a temporary mental defect caused by the substance, rather than a more permanent mental defect.

SSDs - State of the Product?

    No, I don't think so.

It is stiff, hurts like hell and I can hardly move. At least the stitches not to be removed. Next week I start therapy. :(

problem Seagate GoFlex 4TB USB 3.0

Yes they sell the drives, unless the model is somehow different. The price would have to be very good considering that so many of them are defective early on. Do you have a good testing routine before yankung the drives? Is SMART even an option with USB 3.0?

    question Which Tablets

Further up the thread it was mentioned that the battery replacement is only through the factory service, which is likely to be expensive.
  23. LunarMist

    question Which Tablets

I am looking at the percent remaining, not the bars. So would it be better to charge the battery partially every two days and keep it in the 30-70% range rather than do full charge every 3-4 days and let it drain to 20-25%?

    Best movie you've seen

Well, Disney lost $200 million on that cluster****, so I doubt there will be sequel in any event.

    Ivy Bridge details

I'm confused about the ivy CPUs. What will be the best one for the desktop that has the most cores? I might be upgrading from the old hexagonal core 4.3GHz 980X if there is enough improvement and it can use 32-48GB of RAM.
  26. LunarMist

SSDs - State of the Product?

Meh. It needs trim. I like the Cherrydale and the Intel software that can optimize the drive.
  27. LunarMist

    Something Random

It may be TPS. Anyway that is not as bad today. However, it may be relative as the cast is really killing me. :(
  28. LunarMist

    question Which Tablets

Why do you say that? Percent remaining can be determined from a simple measurement of the voltage on the discharge curve.

Nichia Develops 60 Lumen Per Watt White LED

That sounds like of a description of a T1 3/4 LED from 40 years ago.

I think some programmer chose 100 because they felt like it. I don't think there is conspiracy.

Nichia Develops 60 Lumen Per Watt White LED

Are you using an integrating sphere and decent calibrated light meter?
  40. LunarMist

    Mobile Networks

Yes and that is why I don't trust the mobile devices. A computer is easier to control or at least easier for people like me that don't know anything about controlling the OS.

  44. LunarMist

    Something Random

No, I have no poron productions. I don't know where my pink ball is now. I'm going to the surgeon this week. I don't know if they will give a me a pink ball or another color this time, but that would be well into April.

Stringing together all the amino acids in a protein does not really make a word. :) I don't know why the forum parses the text. Perhaps somebody thought 100 text characters was enough.

    Best CPU Benchmarks?

Why is that difficult to explain? At a certain point the device manufacturer doesn't want to write a new driver for an obsolete product.

Nichia Develops 60 Lumen Per Watt White LED

The directionality of LEDs are one of the main problems when used to replaced standard bulbs. Of course they have advantages for certain purposes when directional lighting is desired.

All these updates are just crazy, but I understand the concerns. I had the blackberry for 4 years and it worked just fine. I hanoideases if it had upgradeable firmware, but I never had to do anything other than charge it once in a while.
