    Samsung HM100UI (2.5" 1TB 5400RPM 8MB SATA-II HD)

As of now, eSATA is a whole lot more common than USB3.0 on computers. It also doesn't have any performance hit since it is the native interface of the drive. So, the makers can keep the USB3.0 enclosures, I'll take the USB2.0/eSATA enclosures. I realize it doesn't have power, but it's not...

    Samsung HM100UI (2.5" 1TB 5400RPM 8MB SATA-II HD)

Has anyone played around with one of these? I bought one last week with the intention to put in a 2.5" eSATA / USB2.0 enclosure after Newegg had 'em for $99 after promo code w/ free shipping. I thought it would be nice to have a portable 1TB HD that doesn't need an AC adapter and isn't...

    Samsung 2 TB, eco-5400 rpm

Well, a limit of 1 totally sucks if you want to do RAID-1 or any other RAID level for that matter. In the past they did promotions like this that were limit 1, but more recently that hasn't been the case. Ultimately, I guess they get to do what they want. :p

    8 x 1.5TB + Perc 6i + RAID-6 = Faster Storage

I updated to the latest LSI MSM software. It still didn't consider a partially degraded array a worthy of a popup, but it actually saves the changes, so I bumped up the severity so a partially degraded array will generate a popup.

I'm not sure I'd call it misinformation. Some of it is dated. Prior to the Fermi cards nVidia didn't have a bitstreaming solution. So, someone missed that line when editing the post to update it. As far as I know the information about the i3/i5 is correct with regards to 23.976Hz video and...

    Electric Cars

Nonsense. The Volt is an electric car (for most people) without the biggest drawback of an electric car. You're not limited by or to the capacity of the battery. Sure it's too expensive, but it's a great solution to the problem of immature infrastructure for electric cars. I wouldn't buy one...

I discovered today that I had a single drive failure over 1 week ago on my Perc 6i RAID-6 array and I didn't know it because the default setting for the LSI MSM software for a warning (which a drive failure is considered) is to log it to the system log and the MSM log, but do nothing else (like...
