    "Add features to Windows 8"

The problem is that some newer software will not run on XP64 and some new hardware does not have drivers. I was hoping to run my old system longer until there are better CPUs, but I'm at wit's end.

    "Add features to Windows 8"

Apparently XP64 is not eligible, so it won't even properly run the advisor. That is ridiculous since the 32-bit XP is an older OS and it is eligible. The computer is an ~2-year-old 980X system that I think should be able to run Win 8, but who knows.

    "Add features to Windows 8"

Is there a standalone download? I cannot figure out how to buy it. The link goes to some 5MB app that says my OS is no good.

    DVI KVM switches, any progress?

It's time for me to get a new KVM. My Aten CS1762 is still working, but I need a third input. Is the CS1764A still a good choice?

    Fun with ESD

Oh, that is ridiculous. It's been 35+ years since I did the blinking LED circuits thing, but IIRC the power was supplied by 4 AA cells or similar. This guy is obviously being a goof. :monkey:

    Remote Control Aircraft

What good would that do? I would be more interested in the options of blinding the spy cameras with IR or blasting it with a strong signal to disable the remote control signals or RADAR of the Chinese aircraft.

    problem Spin Up SAMRT

I am going through some piles of old hard drives and I found half a dozen or so 2TB drives of various types. One drive, a Samsung 204UI, is rather odd. The drive seems normal, but there is a major SMART error. Can this be caused by a one-time event years ago or will it fail?

That Corsair does not look like a very reliable product, and is not worth it to me either at the ~$140 price. I have far more confidence in an SSD for my portable storage needs. I suppose the USB drive may be useful for some transfers if the data is not important.
