So, I tried a SD card with 7000 songs on it (in several hundred folders) and I had no problem playing random tracks from all over the card.
Then I had the bright idea to read the manual for the MMI Nav. +. It says on page 17 there is a limit of 5000 files per folder and 1000 files per...
I now have a tracking number for my silver "carbon fiber" trim. Per FedEx it is supposed arrive on Friday. My Enkei Raijin wheels arrived yesterday and I got them cleaned and Opti-coat'd last night. I had just enough Opti-coat to finish the wheels. It seemed to get used up a lot faster on...
So I have a tentative appointment with the clear bra guy tomorrow. I'm holding off putting on the supercharged badges until I know what's going on with it.
I did some VCDS mods on the S4 yesterday like the remote window and sunroof opening, the lap timer, high beam independence for the fogs...
The more I look at the clear bra work I paid dearly for, the more and more unhappy I am with the quality of the job. I will be calling and having a heart to heart with the installer on Monday. There are air bubbles or debris under many of the pieces. Some of the edges are peeling back. There...
It's pretty easy. I swapped in the Hoen Endurance bulbs after I got home today. Turn the steering wheel all the way to one extreme. Then with a stubby T25 torx driver loosen the screw that's the bottom most one toward the outside of the wheel well. Once you take that out you can pull back...
You need to make sure the car is completely clean after the polish before you put on the Opti-coat. That means another thorough strip wash with an APC or Dawn. Don't be a bonehead like me and use an IPA/water solution + microfiber towel on the paint to clean it after the polish. It will put...
I plan to put Opti-Coat 2.0 on the car "(even over the Nano Fusion film) except for the hood. The hood is Xpel Ultimate which has a self healing top coat. The Opti-Coat will reported stop that from working. So, I guess I'm stuck using a more conventional sealant / wax on the hood at some...
So the weather cleared up and I got the car brought back to my house where it's now in my garage protected from the 70% chance of rain for the rest of the day.
In other news TireRack says the 18x8 ET35 Enkei Raijin wheels I was looking at are okay for the 2013.
I ordered some "bulbs" from ebay, but it'll be a while before they arrive from the far east.
I still need to get my car back. I dropped by the clear bra shop to get it at lunch and was informed that I shouldn't/couldn't pick it up because of the rain. Of course I wasn't made aware of that...
I had to ask on AZ to find out where that was. It's the Reset button on the bottom of the wiper stalk (right hand side).
Yeah, it's a little wild. Even the HomeLink garage door opener is set up through the MMI with interactive instructions on the LCD screen. Have you set the B&O's sound focus...
Heh... I bet you've driven further than I have. Mine is sitting at the clear bra installer's shop. He called me yesterday to let me know there was some problem with the Xpel Ultimate he uses on full hoods. It didn't have a good gloss and there were some defects in the film. Supposedly Xpel...
I'm not sure why the paint underneath wouldn't be perfect. Lots of people have removed the V6T badges from the cars without any issues. It's not like they paint around the badging or stick on extra badges to hide defects.
Thanks. One thing that stood out to me is that IMHO the 18" wheels look much better in person than I was expecting from the pictures.
If they were halfway responsible they did not let people drive it while you were out of town. Mine had ~30 miles when it came off the truck according to the...
A lot of people use that Porter Cable. I have a Griot's Garage Random Orbital Polisher. I haven't used both, so I can't compare them for you. However, the general consensus on the forums is that the Griot's is better suited for car polishing. I got mine from Detailer's Domain when they had...
No, this Decon Gel. It gets rid of iron particles. I'm not sure it did much (meaning the car probably didn't need it much). It turns purple, but the car is pretty dark color, and it was getting dark so I couldn't really see what was going on.
Get a pressure washer and a foam cannon / lance...
It's great! It was definitely worth the wait. You should get it if you think you can handle it.
Here are two bad pictures of it in my garage after I strip washed it with Dawn Then I covered it with Wolf's Decon Gel, let it sit, and then washed that off with more Dawn. The Decon Gel didn't...
Don't feel too bad for me. I ordered a better setup already (this + this + this). :bomb: This is a perfect example of what happens when you don't research enough before buying though.
Mine also has a detergent tank, and it will spray it out when you dial back the adjustable wand all the...
I haven't gotten it yet, but it looks like there's another component to the equation. In order to make the best foam the gun needs to inject air into the stream. If you don't you end up with a runny foam. Unfortunately, it seems the $20 setup I got doesn't include air in the foam. :*
I'm geeked about the foam gun attachment I ordered for my pressure washer. I hope it works half as well as the one DetailsDomain uses on customer cars. I get jealous when I see the pictures like this one where the foam just sticks to the car and doesn't run or slide down it.
My Gilmour foam...
I've been impressed with much of BT's repertoire. I haven't hear the two latest albums though.
Interestingly I noticed this in the Amazon listings of both new albums.
I wonder if the source really is lossless or if they're just burning decoded MP3s to a CD?
Edit: I found an...
I wondered the same thing.
BTW, what all is on your list of stuff to buy from Detailer's Domain? I've spend a pile of money on detailing related stuff between them and Autogeek.net.
Apparently there are lots of power failures from some big storms that came through on Sunday. That's why some of the traffic lights were out. They were still out when I drove home in the afternoon.
Well, I went to 4 different firework stores in Indiana on the way home. The best prices on what I looking at (bottle rockets) were cheapest at Big Daddy K's. For example, a gross of Black Cat bottle rockets was $3.50 there. At Johnny Rockets they were 2 for $10 or 4 for $18. At Krazy...
Fireworks are legal to use in California? Like the good kind that leave the ground and/or explode?
That would seems very uncharacteristic of them. Think of all the pollution.
