Sure, but the youths in the video seemed to have a problem turning the computer on, not off.

My eggs are in several baskets, but they need to move to other baskets. It's a long story and not for this thread.

I have no idea how the Andorid keyboards work, but mine does not look like that. It has numbers at the top.

    question Truecrypt

Of course I can transport data, just not transmit it as DD suggests. I should leave some drives in the US, though I'm not sure where.

Given the continually dwindling market, I'm not sure what the point is now. Does Sigma make Pentax FF mount lenses for example?

Can I still install a new OS (7 or 8.1) and will it be impossible to do any updates without the spam and malware being installed? I'm turning off all updates for 7.

    question Truecrypt

I've used it before, but not installed. I thought the point was USB and then in the structure to avoid Chinese, Malaysians, Norwegians, etc.

    question Truecrypt

I understand that the VC files would not be compatible with TC. I thought that VC would at least open the TC files, but it doesn't. :( Why would I download that TC, is it different from the 7.1a from 4 years ago?

The power switch still works fine for me. How else do people turn ON a computer, AWOL, mental telepathy? It makes me think that the youths in the video have no experience with a physical PC at all.

    question Truecrypt

I tried the VeraCrypt, but it won't open the TC files. :(

Office copiers : Canon vs Xerox vs Konica Minolta

So how do people send large files? We have some hypersend bullshit, but it never works. :(

Office copiers : Canon vs Xerox vs Konica Minolta

Do you have some limits? I think we have 50MB for internal, which includes the printer and 20 for external. Some external parties complain that we don't receive their emails.

Office copiers : Canon vs Xerox vs Konica Minolta

We use the Canons at work and they seem to be more reliable than some others we had some years ago. I very rarely see a repair guy come around. Few people make copies anymore. Most usage is printing and scanning to e-mail. We print to one server and then go to any printer in the building and...

    problem Newegg

I think the issue occurred during ordering. It's not much money, but I won't be ordering any such products from them again. We'll see if I ever receive a refund after the PO returns the package.

    problem Newegg

Newegg is bullsh*t. The bastards have screwed the shipping. :-x I ordered a cheap product (under $20), but paid for the 3-day shipping. The invoice shows the shipping charge, but then a different e-mail (they send about three altogether) has the tracking number for the USPS free shipping...

SSDs - State of the Product?

More than being bad at math, it shows lack of common sense. :( I'm sure most of us questioned the price simply based on the comparison to current 1 and 2TB SSDs.
  29. LunarMist

    Windows 10

I normally used two separate drives to avoid funky conflicts.
  30. LunarMist

SSDs - State of the Product?

I suspect that the author is mathematically challenged. $0.25 per GB would mean that the 2TB drive is estimated to be $500, not the 4TB SSD. A 4TB RAID SSD would not be good idea if previous Munchkin RAID drives are any indication. :(

    Something Random

Oh I see. to the SD. :D
  32. LunarMist

SSDs - State of the Product?

Perhaps that should be amended to state that the form factor is not compatible with portable devices and the cost for 15TB is not worth it for me at this time. Today I would buy a 4TB desktop SSD if it were a normal product with consumer warranty.
  33. LunarMist

SSDs - State of the Product?

Maybe so if the power is low enough, but doubt it would be SAS as we know it.
  34. LunarMist

SSDs - State of the Product?

It looks like 15mm. The power requirements are more than many 72000 RPM drives, so it probably needs some mounting and cooling.
  35. LunarMist

SSDs - State of the Product?

That's too large in size and capacity for my needs.

    Best movie you've seen

That's exactly how it should be. The majority of films are crap because they have to appeal to the masses with average intelligence and education. In recent years they have to appeal to the internment market to be blockbusters, so the lowest common censorship denominator also applies.

    Best movie you've seen

I guess my generation missed a lot of that.

    Why are chargers so lame?

I'm wondering about the capacity of that Anker at low power levels since some devices lose efficiency at the bottom. How do you measure the capacity? I received a USB Dork, but am not so sure about the accuracy and extra drain.

Did you update the G4's OS? I fear than mine has received the update due to the huge data usage compared to previous months. It wants to update something, but I keep clearing that notice. The phone is working fine, so I don't want to screw it up.

To pull an SSD or not to pull an SSD

I thought those 850 Pro drives were for consumer desktop use. I'm curious why you would use them especially when you were complaining so much about Samsung quality and service.
