It's the drive not for NAS, so that was pretty obvious. ;) The NAS beeped incessantly with a different drive installed. I had to disable the beep and start the rebuild manually from the web interface. The Repairing (Checking parity consistency...) is at 11% after about 100 minutes.

Unless it has some special technology I expect that drive to have a rather high platter count and be warm running without the helium.

I've almost completed backing up data to the RAID, but now realize that one of the wrong drives is in the array. :crap: Party consistency is now at 95%. I assume that and the copying should finish before I replace the drive. Then it will take a few days to rebuild if I understand correctly.

I don't want a RAID in the computer. I would need 10 bgE for primary data. It sucks saving to the NAS at 100MBs.

It is the DS1515 which is newer and rated for the 8TB drives. Link aggregation will not be useful in my case.

SmartSync Pro continually reports a CRC error when trying to copy one particular file from a 4TB portable drive. SMART (C5) warns that Current Pending Sector=24. The stupid drive is practically new with only 139 hours on it. :mad:

Why does it use AA cells? It seems that one 18650 would be about the same voltage as 3 AA cells but with less size and weight. Technically NiMH cells can go in the checked luggage unlike Li-ion, but I've been called out for them several times. :(

Well I looked around and could not find any as good for my travel needs.

The color of mine is slightly yellow on the white ceiling, though not terrible like some lights. The CRI is probably not very high. I doubt there are any options in that type of light.

It sucks to remove the battery every time and also have lower capacity. I'd rather use a regular 18650 and a single-cell XTAR USB charger in that case.
