For the most part, yes. Just Browse the NSW CD. You'll find that almost everything has its own directory, with its own install or setup executable. Just copy the files off the CD to the HDD, and then run the setup file. Bada-bing, Bada-boom -> You get what you want without any of the useless...

    Sad...my dogs really sick

Hi. I actually logged in earlier on today and was typing something up but got interupted before I had completed and never got a chance to post to the forum . I did save to notepad what I had written and will post now just for the hell of it. In between that time and now, events have...

    Sad...my dogs really sick

Well I've had a terrible night - next to no sleep and had to take my dog into an emergency veterinary clinic early this morning. He's been having a bit of difficulty lately, and Cushings disease (its a tumour of either the adrenal gland or pituitary; pituitary in this case) is strongly...

    TIGER TRAP Video

I think it was at last year's made for TV skills competition (that they have every Dec after the season is over) that Singh and Weir were clowning around at a par three and exchanged irons - Weir, shooting right, put his ball about 8-9 feet from the pin, and then Vijay, shooting left, stuck it...

Pentium M in µATX form factor

I like the fact that the board's integrated video has both VGA and DVI outputs. Nforce2 boards could do that too, but no manufacturer I am aware of produced such a variant....booooooooo. It actually surprises me that none of the Shuttle or other SFF units come with an integrated DVI output.

    Cases with SATA power connectors?

Merc, I believe Thermaltake has a PSU with SATA. Apparentely Future Shock on SR has one and likes it. I took a look for this model a while back but I didn't see any with native SATA cableling - just a molex-to-SATA adapter. Maybe things have changed/updated. I have also heard of a few...

Buying a LCD in the next day and need advice

Works fine. Probably about 97% of the content I view is configured for 800x600. Hee hee, what's really bad was that I ended up driving the monitor too hard. It used to be able to handle 1024x768 @60Hz several years ago, but I guess with age the caps have deteriorated, and the additional...

Buying a LCD in the next day and need advice

I'm currently using an old 14 inch CRT. A rather painful experience, but it was born out of necessity - I've had two monitor deaths (very sad :D ) in the last little while, and my best monitor I lent out (read: gave away to a family member) about a year ago. So I'm temporarily stuck with...

Buying a LCD in the next day and need advice

timwhit, 1) For what sort of application are you going to use it for? 2) You do realise (which it looks like you do) that the N series does not support DVI. 3) In regards to DVI, I would have to say that it is a worthwhile improvement over analog. Especially given you already have a Video...

Intel Pro/1000 MT - Server vs Desktop?

Check out the following diagram of the bus implementation on the MPX: Anything that comes off the 33MHz bus is, in the end, routed by the 66MHz bus. What I'm thinking is that there is some bus mastering problem going on - simply, only 1 device can own the bus at any one time, whether it be...

Intel Pro/1000 MT - Server vs Desktop?

I remember reading in the Anandtech preview and follow up artilces on the Nforce2 that they found that the 3com had higher CPU utilization because of lack of interupt moderation (you can read that here). Wouldn't be surprised that this is the same case with your 3com cards. Indeed, it sounds...

Question about ISP provided personal Webpage/space security

I guess I kind of meant a bit of both. For example, here's a page from the ISP that invites users to showcase their webpages that they created on the provided space. Chosing the top one (the message therapy one) and plugging its address into Netcraft shows that the server is running Apache...
