    Cheap Laser Printer Recommendations?

I'd 3rd Merc's recomendation except I'd add a LJ5 to the mix. Any business LJ more recent than a LJ5 will probably outside your budget. Avoid the HP personal LJ's like the plague.

[NEWZ] Intel Going Entirely Dual Core In 2005

First to say I am currently running a dual XP setup (MP 1900's) and have been for several years) as my main machine. I think Athlons are an excellent value for low-usage dulie's. The problem with dualie Athlons is not that they aren't stable but rather they are RAM starved when operating...

    Should Rumsfeld keep his job?

They are war crimes the issue should not be Rumsfeld resigning (that is self evident) but President Bush. He is the man incharge of Rumsfeld. Should not Bush take responsibility for such actions that occured while on his watch? Especially since he still wants Rumsfeld in his cabinet. Any...

Yes -- Piss away. SSE2 only apples for the newest beta WU's (Dromacs) and then there appears to be a slight ~10% gain for SSE2 over SSE. If you run your P4's in HT mode with dual WU's then the P4's do even better: You gain aprox 25-30% (additive to the previous 10%). Neither of these...

By default the program creates a checkpoint every 15 minutes. If you go into advanced options you can make it more or less. Further it will create a checkpoint everytime it finishes a frame, but that varies depending upon the WU and the processing power of the computer.

    Antec jumping onto SFF bandwagon

Antec's are noisey because of the unneeded case fans. I just don't power them or, as needed, replace them with much better and quieter fans. I actually like the 400SC. A very quiet machine at a good price (Dell commonly gives very good deals on these). My only real complaint is that the top...

    Photography Advice

IS is worth about 1 1/2 - 2 fstops and that can make all the difference when hand holding a big lens. The general rule for hand holding is a shuter speed no slower than the focal length of your lens. So for a 400mm lens you need at least 1/400 of a second shutter speed. With IS you can deal a...

From Merc's description of use I agree that SLR is the way to go: He demands too much lens flexibility. That being said the Pro 1 is a good choice for a point and shoot. The 28-200mm 2.4f-3.5f is about as flexible lens as a point and shoot ever has. Its lens should cover the vast majority of...

Question regarding the "Driver" d/l's available on

I don't trust Windows upgrade for driver upgrades: I've been burned too many times. I avoid them like the plague. If I need a driver upgrade, I go to the manufacturer (not M$). If I have no problems then drivers like BIOS's are not touched regardless of their source.

    IP Forwarding tool?

    IP Forwarding tool?

You need to run dupicate web servers untill the DNS change has been successfully percolated throughout the internet: one on the old IP and one on the new IP so that any external internet DNS servers can route to a valid web server regardless of its state.

They look like the ferite rings to protect against EMI. I don't associate them being delivered with computer cases at all - Antec or otherwise. I can't imagine why they'd be needed unless the power cables they supply are of very poor quality and are broadcasting at unacceptable levels. Even...
