    Best movie you've seen

Maybe the slow-motion fully nude re-enactment of the best part of Black Swan with Kat Dennings in the Mila Kunis role will be an extra on the Blu-Ray. In 3D.

    Outlook PST Hell

I have metric shitloads of experience fixing Outlook. From my perspective as an Admin/Tech, Outlook causes more problems than it solves. There's value in being able to set up a user profile in such a way that it already includes E-mail configuration and I won't dispute that, but I've fixed too...

    Sandy Bridge problems

I need to figure out what I want to do about cooling my 2600k. I'm given to understand that they should be cooler than previous i7s, but mine seems to have stabilized at about 41C at idle, and I'm not doing any overclocking on it yet.

    Outlook PST Hell

Fixing almost every normal problem with Outlook comes not from mucking around with the registry, but deleting and recreating a user's Outlook Profile, and/or doing database maintenance on their .PST.

It's hard for me to say that the ML03 is worth $60 without a PSU. At that point, it's really no different from an Antec case in terms of price, and I'm not getting an Antec PSU for ~$30. This is why I generally say screw it and buy an Antec case when I have $80+ in the budget for a case.

    Sandy Bridge problems

I installed my new 2600k today. A few quick thoughts: 1. Asus has a GUI BIOS that I found more than a little annoying. Award and Phoenix have been the same for years and there's no reason to show me moronic little gauges. 2. The 2600k has a tiny, weak fan and average temperatures on my 2600k...

    Best movie you've seen

There was one sentence referencing Tony Stark and one oblique reference to the Hulk. And maybe 30 seconds of screen time for Hawkeye that was kind of edited in. I'll say it again: Loki was surprisingly sympathetic character given how much of a bastard he is in the comics. I suspect that this...

    Minitowers

The objection I have to the Minuet is the nonstandard power supply. They did that on the NSK3400, too and as a result I have to track down a particular Silverstone PSU every time one of my classroom systems craps out.

problem Disk Space and Disk Initialization

If the only thing that is wrong is that the drive is partitioned as an MBR drive, that procedure will fix it. If it doesn't fix it, then there is something else wrong, like maybe your disk controller can't see drives that big.

Handbrake is what I use. I've been very happy with it. I do two passes at constant bitrate and most of the options bumped way, way up. File size is a judgment call. 6GB for short, animated features and 10GB for long visual spectacles like Return of the King.

3TB drives need to be GPT drives rather than MBR drives to be used to their full capacity. You can fix the problem you're having my using the diskpart command line tool. cmd diskpart select disk X clean quit That should do it. Substitute X for the drive's number, which you can see in Disk...

I'm always tempted to look at SFF and desktop designs when I build, just because I'd rather have a machine that's up on a desk than underneath, but as unappealing as minitowers are, I can find even less to recommend either of those.

For typical desktop applications I'm sure that's true. The 20 pin header will become more common over time. I was kind of surprised, as a huge comic book reading nerd, that Loki wasn't played as a straight up bad guy. He has a sympathetic point of view. I thought the direction and acting were spot on, too. Kat Dennings only had about a dozen lines and stole the movie.

Newer versions of Exchange are 64 bit only. Exchange is also incredibly disk intensive for anything but the most trivial installations. It is not possible to upgrade a 32-bit Windows system to a 64-bit Windows installation. The installer doesn't support it even if everything else does.
