    Best movie you've seen

Coug, a minor re-word works as well: While telling someone to shut his whore mouth can be viewed as humourous to someone in his thirties or less, someone in his fifties might not receive it as well.

I love my S95. I got it for my wife 6 months ago, and she hasn't noticed that 4 months ago I took it for my own use.

Yeah, just got it all sorted out, but only after the state inspector gave up and left. And just before the multi-million dollar bid went out. And because there is no-one else, I am clearly to blame.

The last three weeks have just sucked for all the technology I control. I don't know what it is, sunspots? Stars aligning? Systems are dropping left and right; unrelated systems, some that have years of uptime, some built very recently with top-end equipment. But it is all failing right now.

File synchronization options for large amounts of files

Just to clarify, these two machines aren't on the same LAN are they? If so, SyncToy can easily do what you ask. I'm not sure how efficient it is with network resources, or I would suggest running it over a VPN.

Yup. John Woo is awesome. I remember that from my first apartment and the psycho guy down the hall who was all about gore. Strangely enough, he was studying to be a trauma surgeon and dropped it to go into IT.

Even Better PC Audio v. empty your wallet

Indeed. I bought headphones that I know are beyond my ability to appreciate the difference. How far beyond would require lots of A/B testing with lots of equipment. I sit here happy to know that this is as good as music can sound for me. Now to do the same with the home theater and the car.

I use and maintain a couple dozen of what is undoubtedly the crappiest Android phone out there (Motorola i1) and have never had one crash or lock up. Best movie you've seen

The Fresh Air movie critic (who I normally trust) said I should watch the new Mission Impossible movie (directed by Brad Bird of The Incredibles) in IMAX. Not sure about that, but apparently some of the scenes are very grand in scale.

There is an alignment thing, but I have never worried about it and haven't had any reason to complain. My current work system was imaged using an older version of Acronis, and performance is the same as others on the web.

    Christmas 2011 PC for Wife

...yup. Adobe CS5 installed on an SSD, 5 18MP RAW images copied to either the SSD or 4TB SATA drive. +/- <5%, and honestly the HDD seemed faster. Once they were open there was no speed difference, and saving was about the same speed as well. No point in complicating her life with the copy...

If you have enough RAM (and 4/6GB is enough in this case) having the picture on the SSD isn't going to help that much. Once you open the image, it is in RAM one way or the other until you save it. I'll try to do a test on this right now...

Leverage, like Burn Notice and Heroes, was excellent when it started and would have made a great mini series. By dropping or adding onto the initial large plot arcs they have basically spoiled it.

I'm still unfamiliar with tape. I like being able to directly access the contents of media on any computer without using a special program. It also happens that a complete copy of the data is 3.2TB, so 4TB disks make it very easy to take a copy and store it somewhere.
