    iPhone syndrome

In my experience, the Kindle Fire is not the quickest UI out there, and it seems to really make a difference with the feel. It may even affect the prediction capabilities? It would make sense that a machine with less horsepower would be less capable.

Nearly identical in my (limited) experience. Some androids are faster than others. I have always wished for swype on iPad, and apparently it is possible.

Now typing this with SwiftKey on the transformer. The idea that it personalises predictions based on usage is nice. Pulling that data from your accounts is clever, but I am not giving it access to my Gmail account. It isn't anywhere near as quick as swype yet, but but I'm willing to test it for...

That does look nice. Not compatible with 1.5 though :(

Swype is awesome. I don't think I would use a tablet or phone that didn't support it or something similar.

    The destruction of liberty

I don't think that ruling will survive the supreme court ( at least I hope not). Best to use an encryption method that supports plausible deniability anyway. That adds a whole other layer of fifth amendment rights that should be more defensible.

    Android phones: Tips, tricks?

Except that the only internet at her home is 3G or Satellite. Her driveway alone is several times longer than the allowable distance of either cable or DSL. Even the local wireless internet provider would require us to erect a 100'+ tall mast. She owns a ranch. It is pretty big. Edit: I...

    Google Apps For Your Domain

I moved someone from Pair Networks to GoDaddy just because it plays well with Google Apps. Can't say it is the cheapest, and their recent support for SOPA would have caused me to look elsewhere, but it did work well.

    Android phones: Tips, tricks?

I have a housecall on Wednesday, a user that has no computer or dedicated internet connection; only an iPad with built-in 3G. The only issues she has had is using Skype for video.

    Making "Extra Large Icons" larger?

Nah, I have preview programs that I can use already, I was just hoping not to have to use them. I do appreciate the effort, though.

    Android phones: Tips, tricks?

I still have my ASUS transformer. I use it primarily as a digital knee-board for flying (charts, checklists, backup GPS, airport services directory, pilot's log, music, etc). I also use it as an e-reader from time to time.

    Making "Extra Large Icons" larger?

It is enourmous for a preview, and yes I am trying to use something in a method other than directed, but it allows me to skip photo browsing programs altogether and go straight in to a RAW editor.

Monitor was calibrated this morning. You are right that it is closer to red, my brain just keeps disagreeing. I've been staring at paint samples for the house for a week and it seems to be malfunctioning.

    Making "Extra Large Icons" larger?

That would be very time consuming, considering the other half of the time I am in Photoshop CS5, which is the reason I got the mondo monitor with the mondo resolution in the first place.

    Making "Extra Large Icons" larger?

Now that windows can display RAW thumbnails correctly, just looking at the icons in explorer is good enough to cherry pick images. However, on this 30" monitor, even "Extra Large Icons" aren't that large. Anyone know of a way to increase that by 50-100%? I suspect it is in the registry somewhere...

That is a nice color. I won't be getting it (attracts too much attention), but it is very nice. My current car is "Meteor Grey" and I like that quite a bit. I suspect my next one will be white with a light colored interior.

I do want one of those, but my money is currently tied up in the pursuit of an S4 and a GA pilot's license. I was honestly surprised at how well the 180 macro did; both from the field and the press box it was super sharp and about the right length. At f3.5 and ISO6400 I could manage 1/250 by...

Nope. It has gotten to the point where I don't even ask anymore. Mind-boggling presentation on HP Printer vulnerabilities

To this exact exploit you are probably safe. But I would consider any device connected to a network that is not being actively monitored by up-to-date antivirus software as "vulnerable". Of course, there is nothing you can do, so just grin and carry on ;)
