Installing Win7 onto a RAID of big drives

The Adaptec ASR-6805E manual states that in order to get any arrays to display as an install target in Win7 setup, you need to browse to the drive folder and rescan twice. This works, but after that the install proceeds to the first reboot than fails showing the typical BIOS "MISSING OPERATING...

Desktop pc freezes when using either Win XP or Win 7 OSs

Intermittent problems, be they in cars or computers, are a royal pain in the butt. Particularly with older equipment or an environment where you don't have known good spares of everything to swap and test. Even if you did, intermittent means you never know whether it is solved or not (you can...

Installing Win7 onto a RAID of big drives

According to Gigabyte and Intel, all the drivers are already there. Just tested with 1TB drives and it worked fine. So it seems, at least with Gigabyte, and probably with all Z68 boards, that: 3TB is possible Installing to a RAID array is possible Installing to a RAID array of >2TB drives is...

    Android phones: Tips, tricks?

I had to Google it ;) Looks like the Google is going after iTunes, Netflix, and everybody else. I wonder if they appreciate how many enemies they just made. Considering it is days old, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a big buggy.

Installing Win7 onto a RAID of big drives

Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 4x Hitachi 5400RPM 3TB drives Win7 x64 Ultimate When the BIOS is configured for RAID mode, and I enter the RAID menu (Ctrl-I), it lists all the drives and their capacities, and lets me create the RAID0+1 array, showing the correct capacity. Entering the Windows 7 setup, it...

No, it is a hypothetical. If the telephone company actually owned such a small amount of infrastructure that you couldn't get a dial-tone any time you wanted, the government would step in and make them build a decent product. Extending that, the ISPs (particularly cellular) are saying that...

If people who had phone service regularly picked up their receivers and couldn't get a dial-tone due to overprovisioning, the FCC would be all over the telcos. If overprovisioning is perceptible by the user, it is an error on the carrier's part that they need to rectify.

Your home Stereo/sound system/s? What did you buy, how much, and why did you buy it?

Something interesting about this system that I just noticed. The quality/tone/balance of the system doesn't change at all regardless of volume. That is pretty neat. I'm used to turning up the volume causing an increase and then drop off in the low frequencies...not here at all.
