S4s are all over the place here, the guy down the street has a black on white A7 with 20" black wheels that looks awesome. The cars here aren't quite as nice as Palo Alto (where all the Benzes are AMG, the Bimmers are M, and the Audis are S). But I rarely have the nicest car in any lot.

I believe it is literally forwarding before going to voicemail. So the call rings on the phone, then is re-routed to your GV voicemail.

I would love to, but my company (who owns the phone and a block of numbers) might be opposed. Google does let you keep the phone number and the hole phone with a different carrier and just reroute the voicemail. But Sprint is giving me a hard time.

GV does have its own voicemail, but only if someone calls your GV number. Sprint won't allow me to port my company cellphone number to GV. Google's backup plan is to make Google Voice the handler of voicemail even if your phone is still with another provider. This sounds cool, and they even have...

Doesn't look like it will let me port my corporate cell phone number (not surprising) or the voicemail on my company cell phone (annoying). I have however just forwarded my desk phone to my new Google Voice number. That should fix more than half the issue.

I've had it with voicemail, and will be disabling it on my cell and desk phones. If you want to reach me and it is important, send an e-mail. If you want to try calling me, fine, but if you can't get through....see step 1.

    Drive drops?

If you swap the drives so that the offending disk is on the other cable, port, and power connector do you still have issues? I'll second those here with issues getting "green" drives to work in RAID. In particular hardware or SoftRAID configurations. For the most part I've gotten Windows...

    An LED lighting project

Picture as promised (only a year late!). We haven't found clear diffusers yet, so we are currently running without any. This means that the majority of the light hits the ceiling and reflects downward. This actually works remarkably well. The light falls off nicely as you move away from the...

It was a car accident already. I'd built a different machine (latest i7 and 64GB of RAM) for her, and she changed her mind and wanted something more. For a $4k machine I don't worry about deposits, for a $10k machine I should have. But the ball was already rolling, so...

Not you, the person I built the system for. I didn't spend the money to build a folding machine, it was for a client. Of course, until she pays me it may as well keep folding.

I suspect Merc is in the same boat I am; while I am gone, nothing will happen. At best the work will simply pile up so that when you return you are colossally far behind. At worst you are called constantly while away, even being dragged home before you intended to.

Sounds like you get to go to a pair of rails 19" apart with the servers hung from them. I've had to do that before; it wasn't pretty. Or you can have some shelves installed and switch to (shallow) tower cases.

The most I may have is a chain of e-mails. The average is probably a voicemail from a panicked manager. Worst case is a phone call that doesn't specify anything and just mentions "some issues".

AFAIK, Auto is the same as Comfort unless you go past the detent in the throttle or over 4500RPM, then it transitions to Dynamic. It may also be triggered by going to manual shifting in the DSG cars. No reference, but I think it was mentioned in an episode of Fifth Gear.

Not a pyramid, just a single layer. They have an idea, you pay something in exchange for something when the project is finished, they take that money and do their idea. If it works you get your thing. Think of it as getting a business loan from your customers.
