    4-bay enclosure

4-bay enclosure. Internal? External? SATA? USB? Firewire? Network-attached? The best place to get a quick introduction to RAID is here. RAID-1 (mirroring) is pretty much copy and paste; except that it does it for every file transaction. You don't need to schedule it, or remember to do it...

Some BB guns are certainly more powerful than others. As a kid, I actually shot another kid with a BB gun intentionally. He knew it was coming, too. It was for a school film, documenting the assassination of someone. I wanted a shot through the scope, including the rifle jumping, and the...

I think the better question is; what parent let their kids not understand the consequences of shooting cars with a BB gun? Sucks about your car, Merc. I once had some kids unload on my car (while I was driving) with paintball guns. I got out of the car and caught one of the fuckers, and had...

Then we have something in common, I was born in 1980, and that was the last time a doctor had a good look at me ;) Ditto. My last doctor wasn't officially my doctor; he was my best friend's dad. He was a doctor, and got me samples of stuff when I was really sick, but he saw me at his house...

    Office floods

When I had a washer and dryer to worry about, the hose clogged with clothes fibers. What runs very well is Winamp, Media Player Classic, Microsoft Streets, and Firefox. Combine those applications with an emergency ability to do pretty much anything (thanks to the fact that it is a real computer) and it is quite useful. Further, the 7" display is decent for video/web and the...

After cleaning up and updating, it is quite snappy. After discounting the "gaming" score, it achieves a respectable 2.4 on the Vista Performance scale (Aero Graphics). The hard drive is what really cripples it, IMHO. I suspect I'll be swapping in an SSD within the month...

    E85 Myths and Misinformation

Short-term that is true, but long-term I don't think so. One of the reasons oil is so popular is because you can transport it easily without loss along the way. Oil is also easy and cheap because it is already made; all we have to do is find it and use it. Switching to a renewable source for...
