It is an online office suite. E-mail/contacts/calendar, documents, spreadsheets, presentations all online as webpages. Including the storing of documents. Whatever machine you are using doesn't need to have your data or any apps (other than a decent browser) and you can do all your office work...

I'm running SSDs on Win7 at work and the same SSDs on XPx64 at home. XP is still faster, the TRIM command doesn't give you as much as MS has taken away.

It wasn't solid shade, so there was quite a bit of over/under exposure going on. The filter seemed to tame that down a bit.

The slow down over time issue won't be resolved. It is a fundamental performance characteristic of flash-based storage. A single SSD will give you around 200mb/sec. My secondary system has a RAID-0 of SSDs in it, but that is because the ones I had weren't large enough.

Just finished voiding the warranty on my own U123. 2GB of RAM and a 30GB Vertex with a customized (nLite) build of XP Pro. Thing absolutely flies.

The only extension that wasn't compatible out of the box was the .NET framework. Yet another reason to upgrade.

The trick is that I can run my i7EE at 3.8-4Ghz, and since there are no OC features in server class boards, that is much, much faster than any number of any Xeon chip in most power user workloads. I would argue that it is the fastest power user rig at any price.

The problem with Xeon's is that unless you buy the most expensive chip ever (not counting Itanium), you aren't getting the fastest CPU. You are getting more slow CPUs. At this point there are still plenty of apps that bottleneck at a single core. I wouldn't give up having the fastest single core...

The only reason I can see for going Xeon is to go multi-CPU; and that makes my i7EE look cheap.
