    Animating pictures

I've never done this before, and am looking for any tips. I've shot several sequences (4-12 frames) that I felt would go well as a series. What would be the recommended technique and output? Does animated GIF support a decent resolution? Would making some kind of video file require additional...

I suspect it is buffering and decoding the signal. Perhaps there is an RTOS that needs to boot up?

Quite so. The 300 is too long for an American football game Surprisingly the 180 Macro actually focused quickly enough; even during tracking shots.

Shot the same night football all-star game I did last year. Venue was a Jr. College, so the lighting sucks. I intended to use the 100/2, but got to borrow a 300/2.8 for a quarter. Shot the rest of it with the 180/3.5 macro, probably the best choice to be honest.

Is there any reason this kind of technology can't be strictly software? It doesn't look like it needs anything more than a trick driver and some knowledge of the OS.

Add-on eSATA cards are a bit of a niche market, there may well only be one chip maker who has bothered to commercialize it.

Erm, no. Not really. Though I will be taking next Tues. morning off to service my car. Of course, I will have a pair of laptops, a pair of phones, and a pair of hotspots, just in case. My last vacation was my honeymoon 2 years+ ago.

I agree, but my concept of small business keeps being expanded. 200 employees with computers, nearly five hundred total, multi-million dollar contracts, and me as the only "tech guy". I really like it.

    Taking ownership of files

I get nervous dealing with the really critical machines remotely. I am not the first person there in the morning, and now that we've moved it is a considerable drive to the office, so getting it wrong can be a bad thing.

It was a disk, actually, not a wheel. The weight was seat-of-the-pants approximation, based on what I could reasonably get into my garage, but the flywheel was a handy online calculator. Edit: Revisiting my math, that dimension was for an earlier, lighter flywheel.

5.8MHz would be terrible for transmission. 5.8GHz is better technically, but it really matters what other devices you already have and what frequencies they are using.

Yup. Balance would be critical. A wheel of that size made from Steel would be about 6 inches wide. There would need to be one hell of a CVT for both the drive and generation. A vacuum would be necessary as the outer portions of the wheel would be going many times the speed of sound. Considering...

Haven't gotten there yet. It isn't an energy producer (like a generator), but more an alternative to batteries or hydrogen production/storage.
