Started with an ear infection? Could have affected the 7th cranial nerve? Just a guess, but if basic a anti-biotic don't fix it, go to the hospital. Really.

I haven't seen a definitive answer as to whether TRIM works in 2008 windows raid arrays?

Nope, I'm managing the technical end of a fundraiser event for my old High School. Computers, projectors, power, internet, etc. Should be 500+ people.

    SSD in RAID

I've used ~75 OCZ Vertex drives (original and turbo), yours was the first and only that I had purchased to fail.

Fastest , most useless RMA ever, for me, OCZ

That is pretty quick. The only times I've gotten stuff faster was when we had a massive support contract and the replacement computer was but on a commercial airliner. Arrived from across the country 6 hours later ;)

    SSD in RAID

Intel had some firmware issues on some drives a while ago. It has been a while and the recognized and resolved the issue fairly quickly. Not long ago I built a DB server with a pair of RevoDrive X2 boards in Windows RAID-1 for data and an Intel 80GB SSD for the OS. Works fine, no issues...

That is the problem, I like that view for sentimental reasons. It is one of the places I took my wife often when we started dating. I like the view from that location, but don't know what I can do with it.

Only photographer. There was another guy doing video, actually had the same rig as me (7D with a 17-40/4). Ended up with about 2200 shots, most of them were candid group shots in a large crowd, so much blinking and drinking. About 400 people at the event, including ~30 "VIPs". "Bubba" Paris was...

Composition question. Here is a downsized chunk of a larger pano (warning, it's still 9999x2042 - the biggest Flickr seems to handle) I'm looking for cropping/composition suggestions. Examples would be great. This is certainly my weakest (of many) point, and I'd love some feedback.

Interesting. When a student of my wife was killed (multiple stab and gunshot wounds, car set on fire), she was counted as a "drop" and negatively affected the performance metrics.

SSDs - State of the Product?

I must not understand. You are trying to replace the motherboard of a computer and are trying to do it without rebooting?

Merc, if I had half a budget, you would already have an offer. At this point, we are just trying to keep the lights on. At the moment we're trying to figure out how to get this work. As an interesting note, take a look at the "alternate route" further down.

SSDs - State of the Product?

Check the motherboard chipsets. Install any different drivers beforehand. At the very least, have the driver for the new NIC saved locally first.

I come to work no matter what, I don't have a backup so there really isn't an option. I do lock myself in my office, and I have a separate entrance to the building, so I'm not endangering others.

Not ad bad as PC Chips in my experience, more like an ABit or Msi (middle of the road) which isn't good enough for server hardware.

    Companies that have burnt...

In my experience Supermicro makes very affordable and not very good stuff. I really liked their 1U barebones machines for a couple years; until things started failing. Now I just get 4U chassis and stick desktop hardware in them. Doesn't seem to be any less reliable, and is quicker and cheaper...
