3ware card shows drives, but no array

Never tried it with 3ware, don't know. I do know that the answer is no with Promise RAID 1.

3ware card shows drives, but no array

The array information is stored on the drives in a 3ware system unless they have changes something recently. You can move arrays to different controllers no big deal. When I moved from my old 6xxx card to my 7500-8 I just basically swapped the card, no redefining arrays etc. I emailed 3ware tech...

    Ghost

Can you boot from your flash drives? USB boot is becoming more common from devices such as a thumb drive and I guess if you have the right card reader it might work like that. I still use boot floppies for ghost, and I have a USB floppy drive for my laptop that works well with computers that...

Move Outlook from one PC to another

Move Outlook from one PC to another

I have a laptop that uses MS Outlook 2000 and connects to an exchange server for email. What I would like to do is move the whole operation to a new laptop running office 2003. I know how to move the data files, but what I am looking for is a way to export the account settings and import that...

Why can't I get the floppy drive to work?

I have yet to see one of those, I have only dealt with the cable with the little twist and a connector on either side of it, the floppy that's across the twist from the motherboard would be "A" and the one closer to the motherboard would be "B" and you can sometimes swap that order in the BIOS...

Or a Lincoln, man the resale value on them is nothing. You can get a three or four year old Lincoln town car for under $10k easy. Has to be my favorite used car, to bad I need a truck.

    Samsung vibration

They are supposedly all fluid bearing drives, but that's not your problem. Sounds like one of your platters is out of balance. I have a couple drives that make a bit of vibration, one is a new seagate 400gig and the other is something really old. Not a lot of vibration but you can feel it...

    Advanced Diagnosis Needed

I would say it's the old drive as you suspect, plus something else that may have killed your old drive. Try plugging in the power on the new drive with out the ribbon cable attached, do you get into the BIOS and the drive spins up? Yes= motherboard problem. No= look for a power supply issue...

Anyone tried the new DVD dual layers? Reports, comments?

I have had a couple dual layer burners for a long time now, never burnt a dual layer disk though. I got them because of the faster write speeds to single layer primarily. I am not so sure my set top player would even play back dual layer anyway.

    Usability of faster RAM

For DDR I think it helps that the ram have an entry in the SPD table for the speed you are going to run it at so the motherboard can have no issues in setting it up automatically. Otherwise manually setting it up might help if there is any problems.
