    Best IDE add-on board (PCI slot)?

    really? I've never had this happen ... FastTrack 66 -> Fasttrack100 -> VIA 8233a controller... or VIA 8233a -> FastTrack100 -> VIA 8233a... or VIA 8233a -> BX controller -> FX controller -> BX controller.... or 486 (socket2)controller -> Fasttrack66 -> 486 controller.... they just work.

    Why don't mothernboards have built-in RAM?

    When reading your post I was thinking that disabling RAM through the CMOS might not work correctly or would have problems... however, a jumper based solution would probably make me rest easier... ie.. what if the RAM dies and you cant get into the BIOS to disable the onboard RAM... or what if...

    Why don't mothernboards have built-in RAM?

    good idea... bad idea.... from my 486 and pentium days I KNOW onboard RAM is a bad idea.... (1) you can run into compatibility problems between the onboard and added RAM (2) the onboard RAM is very limiting in the clock speeds you can run the motherboard at... hence, overclocking potential...

    Best IDE add-on board (PCI slot)?

    When you say that 3ware cards are the best... I assume you mean quality.. But in terms of price/performance/features I think the promise cards are better for most people. If I had the money to burn, yes I'd get a 3ware. I believe they are of the utmost quality and probably beat the promise by...

    66mhz Power Mac maybe for sale.. what do you think?

    The local schools around here all use PC's. In the range of pII 266 to pIII 650's (this was the state 2 years ago... they'll probably get newer PC's soon) I think most of them still use win95 or winNT because the school staff has not been trained on how to support win98 (I'm not joking)...

    Best IDE add-on board (PCI slot)?

    that is a terrible looking motherboard btw.... I would also recomend the Promise line of cards... I have bought a FastTrack66 (raid capable, HDD only controller) and it worked great for the year or so I used it. I have since been using an onboard promise chip (fast track 100 lite) It too has...

    LoL, it also says the drive uses 4 heads... note:30GB platters... WD's stie is known for mis-information as mcuh as actual information... I am sorry for you as well, however people(inlcuding myself) have been crying the same thing for atleast as long as WD has had Special Edition drives.

    We've all been warned... before buying a WD drive, I would certainly make sure it has the number of platters / density of patters that I am looking for. WD still have alot of 40GB platters that they are using in the 800JB/BB and 1000JB/BB drives... why would the 60gb drive be any exception? WD...

    never save anything as a .bmp..... that's like saving a video in uncompressed format. you should atleast use a lossless compression such as gif or png. Jpg is good because a little quality loss is acceptable or might not even be noticable, but the file size savings are often huge.

    Are there SIMM stackers for 168-pin SDRAM?
