    Android phones: Tips, tricks?

I don't know. For me the secret of getting good battery life is learning which things eat battery fast and not do those things. Seems to me that the biggest complainers are the ones that don't really understand the things this mini pocket computer is doing. A lot of apps like twitter use GPS...

BTW, ESD straps done correctly have a huge resistor inline so that you can't ground and kill yourself by hitting voltage somewhere.

Yeah you're going to have some real trouble if the systems themselves are having stability issues. I also don't have problems using plain windows copy paste for say 6TB at a time. I do 40GB transfers all the time. That copy program mentioned in the utility section is pretty handy too. That's...

    iPhone syndrome

That's a good point I hadn't thought about and reminded me. Think about the grease monkeys we had here in US mills. Back then they had a huge steam engine or waterfall driving a bunch of shafts mounted in the ceiling of a factory. They had big leather belts running from the ceiling to the...

2011 was the year that moved me to Comcast for ISP. I had a lot of micro outages with Fairpoint that they could never track down and I lived with it for years. So far five months with comcast has been more reliable and much faster. Unfortunately unlike the DSL I don't have internet when the...
