I didn't resize it so it should be 720 x 480. Resizing it would not have been part of the problem anyway. The default NTSC setting is interlaced. Give it a try with the default settings at 720 x 480 and see what you get.

I use TMPGenc's DVD Author which is as simple as it gets for authoring. It will create the chapters for you without having to create seperate files. In fact I believe most authoring programs will do that for you. But with DVD Author you don't have to write the links yourself which is a pain with...

TMPGEnc does MPEG2 nicely.

I use one made by Sony - model DVMC-DA2 (no longer available) - and it's worked fine for close to two years now for me. You can do the same thing with many Camcorders if they have an iLink connection and you have a firewire port on your PC.

I don't know the answer to your question Tea. I don't use DI the way you are intending to. I run it off of two floppies and it will copy or backup anything that way. I've not had any issues with it.

From what I've read the + is supposed to give better image quality. My DVD player only plays - so I haven't burned any DVD+R videos yet. I've only used 2X so far as well. The 4X are too expensive and hard to find. DVD Shrink is a god send for backing up DVD's.

I use Drive Image. I've backed up XP Pro, Win 2003, Win 2K and all the 9X versions with no problem.
