Think positive! Maybe this is actually case of the glass if half full not half empty. I mean why not look at this way - Your telephone was smart enough not to call Australia. :)
Are you pressing F6 when you boot for the Windows install? You must do so and load the promise drivers when it intsructs you to. You must also be sure that your onboard IDE primary has either no drive on it or is disabled. After you've installed Windows you can then reconnect or enable the IDE...
I haven't seen anything at to what socket these are going to be built for. I did read at the Tech Report that they will be the same die as Xeon MPs are made on (603 pins I think).
How they can sell these for so much less than the Xeon Mps with 2mb L3 cache I don't know. Corporate customers who...
It's not a question of rational or irrational. It is a question of healthy thinking vs. disturbed thinking. Depression can bring down the strongest of men because it has nothing to do with strength or will power. Massive depression is not something that you can think or figure your way out of...
1) You're not annoying or bothering anyone here as far as I can tell. If anyone here is being annoyed - screw 'em!
2) I don't want to scare you :) but I understood what you wrote last night. I know very well the tempting sense of relief and peace death seems to offer at times in my life as...
Please do that.
When you start to spiral down again like you did last night it's important for you either reach out to someone like you did on the phone last night or to chat with someone here in the forum.
Above all you need to stop listening to your illness and start listening to the...
Well The Jo Jo all you have to do now is come up with initiation fees and you will be our new moderator - $250.00 U.S. - covers the cost of your uniform, badge, gun, and genuine Dick Tracy Decoder Ring.
I didn't resize it so it should be 720 x 480. Resizing it would not have been part of the problem anyway. The default NTSC setting is interlaced. Give it a try with the default settings at 720 x 480 and see what you get.
Ok Doug I download the file and encoded it with TMPGEnc using the standard NTSC DVD template with no changes at all. It was encoded as "interlaced". I then burned it on a DVD-RW and played it. The wavy horizontal distortion which was on the full version (I double checked that it was in the same...
I haven't tried encoding with AC3 because I do most of my encoding with either Premier 6.5 or Main Concept's stand alone encoder (very fast - great quality). Usually I encode the audio in MPEG-1 audio layer II which is as tight a compression as AC3. I could use a stand alone program of some type...
I stumbled upon this article regarding a fellow who is known is the "Birdman of Melbourne" and it got me to thinkin' that our resident ornithologist (a.k.a. Tannin) is missing out on a terrific career opportunity.
From -...
Ok I played it on my DVD Player and it looks just like it did on my PC this morning. The same flickering and horizontal distortion. Go ahead and post the capture clip and I'll encode it with settings that I know are good, burn it and we'll see what we get.
Doug - In between the time I first viewed the video this morning and tonight I did a clean reinstall of Windows 2003 on my PC. I just played the video again and now I don't see the distortion on my PC. Beats me why! Anyhow I'll put it on a DVD-RW and try it on my DVD player.
I will try it on my DVD player. It is very noticeble on my PC though. The action part is very noticeble too. Any part of the action segment will do fine as the horizintal distortion is continuous. A ballpark idea where it was particularly bad is where he goes turns left around the corner and...
Hmm... well I have only played it on my PC and can see both the flickering and the distortion. So it is the file itself and not your DVD player. Do you still have the orginal capture file? If so can you edit a short clip (100MB or so) to post so that I can check it? You need to find out at what...
Mercutio,
Life is about choices. We all make them - and each one we make effects our future lives for better or worse. You've made many of the right ones in the past which have resulted in the intelligent and decent person you are today. And like all of the rest of us you probably have made the...
Ok I got it Doug. I see what you mean. I suspect that the "flickering" you discribe in the slide show segment is related to the same distortion as is in the action scenes. If you play the slide show slowly you can see the same horizontal field distortion. But because every frame is the same...
Why not encode it interlaced? All TV is interlaced so the lines won't show when you play it on your DVD player / TV set even though they will show on your PC. That could be your problem.
Does your Player play DVD-RW? Mine does and so I always burn a test copy first on a RW disk. I use the same...
And you wonder how Pat Buchanan got so many votes in Palm Beach county?
I would never shoot someone for trying to steal my truck. I might bluff them that I would shoot but it's not worth taking someone's life over. My $.02 worth.
I use TMPGenc's DVD Author which is as simple as it gets for authoring. It will create the chapters for you without having to create seperate files. In fact I believe most authoring programs will do that for you. But with DVD Author you don't have to write the links yourself which is a pain with...
Whatever you capture it with on your PC is going to compress it. It won't be uncompressed. To capture in DV you will need a converter like the canopus one you mentioned.
But to be honest you'd be better off buying a DVD / VCR player which a firewire or iLink out connection. When I bought my...
I use one made by Sony - model DVMC-DA2 (no longer available) - and it's worked fine for close to two years now for me.
You can do the same thing with many Camcorders if they have an iLink connection and you have a firewire port on your PC.
Pradeep you do know I was only kidding right?
BTW what does one hunt underwater? We have alligators down here but you don't have them in NY do you?
And what do you hunt when you're back home in Pullywhateveritis?
I don't know the answer to your question Tea. I don't use DI the way you are intending to. I run it off of two floppies and it will copy or backup anything that way. I've not had any issues with it.
From what I've read the + is supposed to give better image quality. My DVD player only plays - so I haven't burned any DVD+R videos yet.
I've only used 2X so far as well. The 4X are too expensive and hard to find.
DVD Shrink is a god send for backing up DVD's.
