What do you mean by recessed? Fixtures are entirely built up inside the ceilings? If it's an entirely enclosed fixture (no air space for heat to vent *above* the bulb, with standard incandescent sockets), then you'd likely not find any CFL that will work for full rated life...if the replacement...

I'd say it will take longer for the $per gigabyte to come closer, much longer... when there is price parity, probably 5-10yrs out, SSDs will be then be standard and will replace HDs altogether. Extra price premium won't be much of a consideration for those who want the performance advantage(s)...
