    Phone Dying

What's wrong with the Nexus 6? It's great (well) for RDP, reading the shopping list etc. And it's my work phone, so the camera isn't very important. I wouldn't mind a Moto G or Moto X either for that matter even if there are better phones, but the simple interface + turbo charging is very...

    Android phones: Tips, tricks?

I hate to say it, but a co worker got a Z3 and it seems to be pretty good (smooth ui, good camera and water resistant) even if it's preloaded with millions of apps that you don't want. Personally I was looking really hard at the Moto X, but then the Nexus 6 came along.

    Android phones: Tips, tricks?

Probably yes, but I think an Xperia Z3 might surpass it in that aspect. It's still quite large and completely flat on both sides.

I'm on the HCHF-diet myself, it's excellent. ;) But seriously, I thought the best thing was to eat normal balanced food, and not too much? And that the biggest threat might be all the hidden sugar in everything we eat and drink these days?

Roaming is cool but probably difficult to implement in an elegant way. How would you avoid getting interruptions in the music? What happens when two persons listening to different music enters the same room, and when one of the two leave the room again? I think it looks pretty easy to configure...

What were you worst computer related mistakes made?

I've had a few oops moments. Once I formatted the wrong disk - my main storage drive. But I could recover most files. Another time I truncated a database table by mistake. The good news was that I had the table opened in another tab in the server manager, and the table only contained ~40 rows...

    Cold

It might be difficult for us to understand where there's ice on the lakes for 8 month/year, but I think it's pretty common to have no or almost no heating. I think I've never been freezing as much as when I spent the Christmas in Italy a few years ago. It was only around 0°C but the family where...

    Your first computer?

The first school computer we had was Compis (COMPuterInSchool, kompis=friend in swedish). Designed in Sweden, used the CP/M OS, you did the programming in the Comal language, a mix between Basic and Pascal. All the computers in the classroom were connected to a central HDD with (I think) 20 MB...

Haswell Laptops 14" and smaller with at least FHD screens

You don't need to show me benchmarks, I trust you. I can tell you about a couple of minuses with the T440s so far. It doesn't have NFC and it looks like won't be available in a while (at least not in Sweden). And the screen has some bleeding in the bottom. It's not important in my applications...

    Even better audio from a laptop v. Audio-gd NFB-15.1 + Emotiva Pro Airmotiv 4

My point in the previous post was, you can try and add/remove/move around some natural damping materials in the room if you think the sound is "wrong". If more damping on the wall improves the sound, go ahead and buy some permanent wall treatment. When it comes to vented vs closed enclosures...

    Even better audio from a laptop v. Audio-gd NFB-15.1 + Emotiva Pro Airmotiv 4

It's almost impossible to say without testing, it depends a lot on the room. Some speakers are designed to sound good in real rooms where it's pretty uncommon to have sound dampening on the walls, but they might have carpets, curtains, furniture and other things that affects the sound.

I think every model of Renault made after 2003-2004 has gotten five stars in the Euro NCAP, and they don't make premium cars. I believe that 1 km/h higher speed means 2-3% more deaths. At least that's what the scientists say. Here's some information from the Autostrada system. I did a simple calculation just for fun, the table shows the energy of my car (1550 kg) when travelling at different speeds. 90->100 km/h...

Personally I think it's worse that huge companies can buy the truth. But that has nothing to do with this. But it's fascinating that even the official statistics from USA lies to us and say that more people die in car accidents in rural areas rather than in urban areas. Of course, as long as...
