It's not about flow direction. Basically, air bubbles always find their way into the highest point of the system. Many of these systems, with manufacturing variation, can have up to 10% air in the closed loop - which may even slightly increase over long periods of time (under severe...

I'm not a fan of water cooling either but I was reading/researching to learn more about it and it was interesting to see that a lot of systems are installed wrong - allowing air bubbles into the pump area. Even the manufacturers show it installed wrong in some of their documentation.

    Home Solar

Here is an issue with solar I never really thought of. Thoughts? https://www.forbes.com/sites/michaelshellenberger/2018/05/23/if-solar-panels-are-so-clean-why-do-they-produce-so-much-toxic-waste/#9624443121cc

    Home Solar

Howdy Doug. How long have you had it installed? Have you been able to estimate if you are on-track for at 5 year ROI? I know it will be hard to determine what winter will bring but just wondering what your overall impression is. If you don't have batteries, is the AC fed directly to your...

Bathroom fan replacement (v. quieter + more CFM)

I know this is late, but in case anyone is interested in a fan, I looked at a ton of them before I settled on replacing my bathroom fan (that was a rattle trap and died) with this Panasonic model. I'm really happy with it. Much much better than the Broan fan that it replaced...

I just had a flashback to our CS days, Piyono...just pay for shipping and you can have it for free if you decide to try the AI Mesh route. I would like to know how well it works as I have never tried it.

Yes I did that w/o any issues to two of them and running the latest Merlin on them as well..

    Home Mesh Network With OpenWrt?

You can get a couple of RT-AC68U routers and run Merlin's latest firmware on them with AI Mesh enabled. I have not tried it but it seems like it would be a pretty low cost solution. I run Merlin on my RT-AC86U and have an Orbi system I got for free (from beta testing). Note: the 68U is a...

    Home Solar

Howdy Doug- IIRC you live out East and get a fair amount of snow. I'm in Michigan and I have a couple large portions of my roof facing directly south. How much efficiency is lost to snow covering the panels? I am kind of interested in looking at solar but assumed it would not be cost...
