Voodoo4 + Win2k + Counter-strike = Black screen?

well...I'm a new win2k user, and I just installed it to find with my default voodoo4 drivers yield a black screen. I'm not sure if its due to not installing my motherboard drivers (are they needed in win2k?) or because of 3dfx only releasing one update for the voodoo 4 before clearing out.

Any ideas?
 
Hit this site for some updated 3dfx drivers. I'm using the Amigamerlin drivers on Windows 2000. They work very well for gaming.
 
argghhh...one of those annoying intermittent errors!

i have tried all the voodoo4 drivers there are for win2k, and all of them work if I start a LAN game of cs or any games after that via gamespy. BUT...if I don't start a LAN game prior to using gamespy, I get the black screen again, which can't be fixed by CTRL ALT DELETE, the only way to get out of it is to reset :S
