For W2k. Google brings up too much crap. This should have been a built-in feature of Regedit, no?

IIRC the support directory of w2k server (maybe pro too) has reg.exe and other registry tools. Or maybe it's part of the w2k Resource Kit.

RegEditX 2.0 is freeware. I downloaded it so I must have tried it at some point but I don't recall how well it works.

AXCEL216 has a list of registry tools.

Woops, you want replace, not just search. Try Karen Kenworthy's Registry Ripper or Registry Crawler (30-day trial).
