Digital cameras?? Best company track record?

Canon software is not very good and the licensing policies are rather Draconian in that the original media may be needed for installing a downloaded update. However, a camera is not like your Coolscan in that it is not necessary to use the manufacturer-supplied software. BreezeBrowser...

    So, um, where is everyone?

Presumably there are some who do not feel they are part of the club. It can be difficult to start at a new forum. It is apparent that a low-count member's comments are often overlooked in the dialog between two or three multi-Kers. That is especially the case in the P&B forum.

    Samsung ATA-133?

But if my ten Maxtor drives of 160GB or greater capacity work on the FW bridges, then they must support 48-LBA, no? According to Samsung the drive is ATA-7 and the transfer rate is 133MB/sec, so I thought it must be an ATA/133 drive...

    Samsung ATA-133?

Is the SP1604N a true ATA-133 drive? I ask because my Firewire bridges (ADS/Oxford 911) do not see more than 128GB of space except on Matrox drives. I think that is because the Western Digital and Seagate drives are ATA-100 only and that there is something about the bridges that needs more...

[NEWS] - 2.5” Hard Disk Drives Roundup

It's unfortunate that they did not test most of the newer notebook drives, such as the 7k60, 5k80, MHT2080AT, MK8025GAS, etc. 20 GB/platter is history, as 30 GB/platter should be, at least for 4200 RPM drives. Who wants to make a buying decision between some EOL or nearly EOL drives?

Wide thread for putting pictures in

There could be several issues affecting the plane of focus when such a contraption is used. One is often field curvature (one of the five Seidel aberrations) and the other could be that the axis of the lens is tilted. How is the scope mounted to the body?

PM7 works fine for drives up to 250 GB; I have not tried the 300 GB drive since it is on backorder. I assume that PM8 would work as well. PowerQuest lists the maximum drive capacities that have been validated to work with PM, not necessarily the largest drives that will work. ;)
