    Ceiling Hanging "U" Racks

I've done something like this and hung it from the ceiling before. I was paranoid, and bridged several joists...don't think it was necessary.

I wish mine used an SATA drive...it would have an X-25M by now. Mine has the PCI-e as well for the cellular card.

SSDs - State of the Product?

67MP PSD with 17 Layers, Final Size 550MB - 1 minute 41 seconds. It is even more frustrating on an i7 (4 cores, each with hyperthreading)...13% CPU utilization!

Um, yeah...not well. There is additional detail to be had, but you would need to mask out the rest; the response curve goes goofy and neither CS4 or Photomatix can handle it.

It really depends on how much time I have. If the clouds are blowing quickly or it is getting dark fast, 10-20% overlap is it. If I have the time and I have the tripod and Nodal Ninja with me, 50-70% overlap easy.

Do you think Sony will kill Blu-ray?

I don't have a BR reader, either. My HD-DVD reader is in storage. Back to regular DVD for me until the ripping/compressing gets as easy as AutoGK.

We have a rather hefty copier/printer that does 35ppm, and I have done 8k pages/day for a week before. As is usually the case when not enough information is provided, it is because the person asking doesn't know what they don't know. In these situations, multiple rounds of...

The striping in some (most :( ) of my panos is the result of some pretty bad vignetting on my 10-22 and my 35/2. What is the best lens in this range (at a sane price) to avoid this specific issue? I don't think my 50/1.8 is as bad, does it happen more with WA lenses?

I should give that a shot, but is there really enough info in a RAW to make 3 16-bit TIFFs? Would simply moving the "exposure" slider in the RAW conversion be the best way to do this?

I would, except there is no way to hold all those people still for three shots. That is the one reason I would want a 50D (frame rate). But I would have done some local adaptation to change the energy back to the kids. Something like this. Edit: I do like most of these pictures, but this one is...

MLC, and likely have the small write performance issue, but that will still beat a 4200RPM drive during boot (95% read) and light use.

Neither of my small toys take 2.5" drives. One takes a mini (like the one I linked) and the other is a 1.8" ZIF. I hope more vendors adopt smaller form factors (something the width of the SATA data/power connector would be nice).

Put the Pagefile in a RAMdisk? (XP 32-bit)

I bought RamDisk Plus 9.x, mainly because it supported using RAM beyond 4GB on 32-bit OS's (when using 64-bit capable hardware) and that it supported RAMDisks larger than 4GB.

    VHS to DVR

I have a Toshiba D-VR660KU. I've only used it twice, but it worked fine both times. The dubbing is at real-time speed, and finalizing the disk afterward took forever, but I was then able to rip the video using AutoGK and play it with MPC without issue. Keep in mind, I haven't tried anything...
