Walked into a Dick Smith store today to buy same canned air (to clean out my wife's laptop, mainly the HSF), and apparently the store (and most DSE stores) no longer stock it! They recommended I go to Jaycar? ** Dick Smith is similar to the old Tandy/Radio Shack stores here in Australia.

Actually I don't see this being enforced too hard... Big corpoare buy 10Ks of boxes from OEM and want to install their own Win7 image... and they can't do that. Big corporate changes OEMs... As I said, not going to be enforced too hard. (At most, just go into the BIOS, and disable it).

That was the whole purpose of the CIL and CLR with .NET. (Apps written against .NET are compiled to bytecode like Java, and the CIL compiler compiles it to native code at runtime - hence why for most .NET apps you get a severe lag when starting them for the first time). Any app written with C#...

On aspect of IVB I'm interested in is the power saving coming from the die shrink to 22nm, and the way it will trickle down to other CPUs including Celeron's and Atoms. Would be nice to get an i3 based Celeron in the same power envelope as a current generation Atom (that is under 10W), since the...

You're correct, AMD introduced the IMC with the original Athlon64 and Opteron (Clawhammer and Sledgehammer CPUs) back in 2003. I've never seen just the IMC fail, it's always been the entire CPU fail. Mind you, if the IMC is flakey, the internal POST (within the CPU) should have picked that one up.

Unfortunately corrupted data is corrupted data. PS. My only word of advice when dealing with HP support on the business side, is make sure you have already run the system diagnostics (that are located in the BIOS) before you call, and have an error number ready.
