SSDs - State of the Product?

I read that, too. But it just won't. It got to the drive selection, I was able to choose the SSDs and format, but the "OK" button would not allow me to proceed.

SSDs - State of the Product?

If you are willing to pay $300 and only need 16GB, get an SSD. A warning, though, Vista won't install on even a 48GB drive.

SSDs - State of the Product?

Nope, it isn't. But it is a description of the product, and I trust the quantifiable numbers. It is good enough to keep SSDs out of my high-end builds for a while longer.

SSDs - State of the Product?

Because it would get spanked. I didn't read a single negative thing about the drive in the whole review.

SSDs - State of the Product?

I think the VelociRaptor will keep SSDs out of the mainstream for a bit longer. 300GB Capacity <10W power consumption 6.9ms access time

I had a conversation with my grandmother quite a while ago. She started the conversation, and in it specified exact performance guidelines that she wanted to maintain for the rest of her life. She asked me to "take care of it" should she fall outside of those guidelines. I agreed. She isn't...

I've been in and out all day. Having issues with the turn-up on a T-1 that is a couple hundred miles away, dealing with configuring a PIX firewall (PITA), and re-creating the mysteriously removed MX records from a domain on Network Solutions.

But on a hardened XP system, there was a significant degree of granularity to the controls and security. If program x was poorly written and required access to system file y, you could change just that bit. With UAC it is either on or off.

Some content is protected so it won't display unless the signal from source to screen is encrypted using HDCP. HD-DVD and BlueRay both require this, but can be bypassed with appropriate software. I haven't heard of online video sources locking it down in a similar fashion. Where did you read...

This one I don't understand. Either the fuel is being combusted for power or it is going out the back end, no? The only way to reduce the amount going out the back is to burn it more completely in the engine (hence, more power)? Or is it something in the delayed valve timing?
