Up until I've read the review on our former home, I did not realize that 2.4TB 10K SFF mechanical drives existed. They are available for sale too. About one third the price per GB compared to enterprise SSD. For mechanical drives, they perform well. Compared to SSD...not so much.
Useful to upgrade old servers. For new systems and since all-flash arrays' softwares often support compression and deduplication (vSAN, Datacore SAN Symphony-V, 3PAR, NetApp, etc), it's better to look elsewhere IMO.
