So the lesson is flush twice? I remember seeing an article which had a video of the toilet manufacturers testing their toilets. It was mostly concerned with getting the waste out of the toilet, not with the line like that video.

Lack of systems thinking; not having the smarts to see the total picture. Solving individual problems sometimes just moves the problem to another point in the chain.

The low flow toilets in my house will use more than 1.6 gallons if you hold the lever down longer. Something more like 2x the water. So, that's what I do for solid waste.
